Indianapolis IN- The Basketball League’s CEO, Evelyn Magley announced the 10th new
market since the pandemic hit and the 22nd overall has been awarded to the Waco Royals.
Waco is directly south of Dallas Texas and fits perfectly with current teams in:
– Enid, Oklahoma
– Little Rock, Arkansas
– Dallas and Lewisville, Texas.
Team Market Owner, Brandon Littles was a former collegiate basketball player, providing
him with knowledge about the game. His first official act as Team Market Owner was hiring
Akeem Stroupe as President of the Royals. Both young entrepreneurs have experience in
the entertainment and sales background. They will be joined by COO, Renee Huitt, who will
be running the community engagement piece of the business.
“It is a lifelong goal to be able to bring professional basketball to my community. The Waco
Royals will bring tremendous family friendly, affordable entertainment to Waco and earn our
fan support by serving the youth of the community, being available to partner with the
various schools and current programs with a heart for our children,” Brandon Littles said.
“Brandon and Akeem have great passion and energy with the right perspective of desiring to
use basketball as a tool to impact lives. This part is core to TBL’s vision of teams becoming
community assets in their market,” Evelyn Magley said.
The Royals tryouts will begin in early October:
– Oct 24 th – Waco, Texas
– Nov 15 th – Dallas, Texas
– Dec 19 th – Houston, Texas
– Jan 16 th – Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
– Feb 6 th – Austin, Texas
